How did you become involved in football and when?
As a 5 year old tomboy I was' over the moon' when my father took me to Chelsea - I still recall being handed over the turnstile & then escorted by a Police Officer down the stand to sit with a cluster of other young 'uns in front of the advertising hoardings!
Football then went on hold as all my schools encouraged me to play hockey, lacrosse, tennis, netball, basketball, rounders, athletics & swimming, to name but a few!
About 20 years on from my Chelsea days, I became a volunteer match day helper in the Vice-Presidents' Bar at Cambridge United, and enjoyed many happy years there in various match day roles. Ultimately I became the Steward in the Board Room, but never heard a thing!
What is your greatest achievement in football?
Passing my Referee examination in the early 1980's - I was examined by Bob Spiller & was delighted to meet up with him again when I joined Cambs FA. I never actually refereed - I took the course so I could 'talk football' with the lads.
What do you most enjoy about your role at the Cambs FA?
Without doubt the variety of tasks and challenges throughout the year, often working to tight deadlines, coupled with working with colleagues who bring a wealth of experience and fun to life at the HQ. I am also very appreciative that I am often able to take full ownership of various projects.
And what is your greatest challenge in your work?
Apart from successfully translating the Chairman's handwriting (!), it's being able to catch all the balls that I've juggled during the day - as a 'Girl Friday' to the Governance Department I have to be a jack of all trades and keep right up to speed with all the IT systems introduced by The FA. In the 10 years I've been working for Roger & the rest of the team every day is surely different.
Your favourite team?
I'm sitting on the fence for this one - I follow the local teams in the Conference, but generally tend to 'support' any underdogs!
