The Cambridge Ability Counts Schools League 2007-2008

The league with no name is a Special Schools League which has been organised by Connie De Martino; PE coordinator at Castle Camps School. The league currently does not have a name as the participants have been asked to think of a name themselves – watch this space to find out the winning name!

The league was formed to provide an opportunity for children to take part in regular football activity and each school plays each other once. The winning school at the end of the season will receive an award.

The following Schools are involved this year: Castle, Granta, Marshfields, Spring Common, Heltwate, The Harbour, Samuel Pepys, Foxton, Highfields, Cottenham, Amber Centre.

Ability Counts Fun Football Festival

Saturday the 8th March saw Cambridgeshire FA host a fun Ability Counts festival for Under 18s at Impington Village College.
Over 70 young players from 7 Ability Counts teams took part in the festival. The festival was run with a fair play ethos with fun and enjoyment being the desired outcomes. All players received a certificate for taking part and feedback from players and managers has been very positive with teams keen to enter the next festival.

Cambridgeshire FA are committed to enabling everyone to enjoy and participate in our national game and reach their potential as a player, coach, manager or administrator. The Ability Counts programme aims to offer quality participation opportunities in football for people with disabilities.
