This year for the 1st time we are including an Under 8s festival. This will involve non competitive matches which are aimed at encouraging younger players to take up football at your clubs and gain experience of playing in match scenarios. The matches for U8’s are all based on enjoyment of playing the game and development and no results will be recorded.

To book teams into the festival please complete the booking forms in full and return to Cambs FA along with payment.

This year we have included support for the Clic Sargent charity, supporting children who are diagnosed with cancer. The booking cost includes a donation to the charity, we hope you agree that this is a very worthy cause and will support us in raising money for the charity in this way.

FEMALE COACH MENTORING SCHEME

Come and Join Us!

Our first female only coach mentoring session took place on Wednesday 13 May 2009 at Coleridge College.  The first session involved four local female coaches attending an introductory evening where we looked at the opportunities available both locally and nationally as well as determining what the coaches themselves wanted to acheive through the group sessions.

We then had an outdoor session of coaching presented as part of the Lead Coaches event.  This was delivered by Regional Coach Development Manager, Tessa Payne, who looked at match preperation and team talks with a group of U9s from Cherry himton Lions.

Future events will be planned to incorporate sessions to provide support and advice for coaches with regard to training sessions, match day management, courses and workshops.

If you are currently coaching/managing a team, looking to start coaching, looking to develop your skills as a coach further then this is for you!  You can join at any time.

We are looking for people that can offer support and advice to other coaches, and share their experiences as a female coach, and / or would like to receive support from other female coaches.  Coaches of all ages, experience and abilities are welcome.

For further information please contact:

Beverley Clarkson on 01223 209036 or e-mail Beverley.Clarkson@CambridgeshireFA.com

COURSES

Rather than offering 'Female Only' courses, that do not always attract sufficient candidates, we are targeting a Level 1 and Level 2 coaching course in 2009, to encourage female coaches to attend. This way we hope to encourage more females to become coaches and further develop their skills.

We appreciate that some women find an all male environment intimidating and we are hoping that by targeting certain courses as 'female friendly' we will have a larger number of women on these courses. This will help to make the experience of developing their coaching skills more relaxed and, hopefully, successful.

Of course female coaches can attend any of the coaching courses scheduled throughout the year. the female friendly courses are just a means of making the courses more attractive to some coaches.

The dates we are promoting as Female Friendly are:

Level 1 July 2010        Venue: Cambs FA

Level 2 August 2010       Venue: Linton Village College

For more details follow the link to the Level 1 and Level 2 courses under the related links section to the right of this page.
