Cambridgeshire FA - developing football for everyone
Governance - safeguarding the game

Governance

The work of the Cambridgeshire FA Governance Department covers the traditional backbone of grass roots football in our area.

This ensures that football is both administered and organised according to the Rules and Regulations of The Football Association (and reflected by the Cambridgeshire Football Association) to include:
          Discipline
          Club Affiliations
          League & Competition Affiliations
          Referee Registrations
          Sanctions
          Rules

Although not always popular, it is essential that there are set processes governing the game so that all participants know if they are following correct procedures. It also ensures that in all actions there is a transparent process to avoid any misunderstanding.

Much of the necessary ‘paperwork’ involved in the day to day running of local football can be found on this website as downloads or related documents/links and we are continually looking to improve and extend the scope of the website.

As well as overseeing this administration, the Governance Department also offer help and guidance to all the County’s Clubs, Leagues, Competitions and Referees, whether the enquiries originate from existing members or new applicants.

We are here to support all who are involved in grassroots football in our area, and we would much rather you contact us with a query or to discuss a problem, rather than wait until the situation becomes a more serious issue.

We are also one of the few County Associations that run our own Saturday League, the Cambridgeshire County League (Kershaw & BIS Leagues), plus we also run the County Girls’ & Women’s League, the 9 –v- 9 Under 12 League & the Cambs 5s for both men & women.
