Discipline - an Introduction

Cambridgeshire Football Association exists to not only develop the National Game at grass roots level within the County, but also to administer and uphold the Disciplinary Rules and Regulations of The Football Association to enforce good discipline and fair-play in the grassroots game.

The necessary punishments and fine amounts are set by The Football Association, and not the Cambridgeshire Football Association.

For teams playing within Cambridgeshire discipline is directed as follows:

Administered by The Football Association:
Cambridge City   (1st team only)
Cambridge United   (1st team, & U18*)
Histon  (1st team, Reserves, "A" & U18*)
Soham Town Rangers   (1st team only)
*  FA Youth Cup & National Conference League only

Administered by the Cambridgeshire Football Association:
All grassroots football whether it be League / Cup / Friendly / Charity matches for all Cambridgeshire Football Association affiliated clubs.
(Note - any team playing in any of these matches MUST be affiliated to the County)

There now exists 2 different systems of Disciplinary Procedures active within the County:

Match Based:
- Teams which play at Steps 5/6/7
(includes reserve teams who play at Step 5/6/7 of a club whose 1st team plays at Step 2-4)
(Note: Kershaw Premier League is a Step 7 League)
- Women's Premier League
- County Representative Football
- FA Pilot Leagues 2009/10
(Note: in Cambridgeshire the Kershaw Senior "A" & "B", ALL BIS Saturday Leagues & the Peterborough Premier League are ALL Pilot Leagues for season 2009/10)

Time Based:
- All other leagues
(includes Premiership - Conference National - non 1st teams other than open aged male Saturday, U21, U19 & Academy
and Conference North/South, Northern Premier, Isthmian & Southern Leagues - non 1st teams unless they play at steps 5/6/7).

Note 1: if a player participates at both levels then the punishment will be based on the level at which they were playing - e.g. if a player plays on a Saturday in the pilot Kershaw "A" or "B" or any of the BIS Leagues then Match Day suspensions will apply, and if he also plays in a Sunday league then Time Based suspensions will apply.
Note 2: if a player is suspended on either a Saturday or a Sunday then he is SUSPENDED FROM ALL FOOTBALL until the suspension dates have been completed.
