Gifts Aid can only be claimed on donations from a tax paying individual not from companies and can’t be for the running costs or training fees. If your club has a specific project that requires fund raising then CASC could be a way of boosting your fund raising through sponsored events, quiz nights, Golf Days, etc.
Applications for registration are currently taking up to 12 weeks and 50% are being unsuccessful due mainly to clubs wanting to claim for income that does not qualify, once accepted claims generally take 5 weeks to process and the Gift Aid being reimbursed.
Any club registered as CASC will need to provide accounts upon request to HMRC but the paperwork is minimal and should not be thought of as a barrier to any club applying.
