Setting Up A Club

Cambridgeshire FA is committed to supporting the development of new teams, so please do not hesitate to contact us for assistance.

Before embarking on setting up a club, the first step is to establish if you have sufficient potential playing members to field a full side regularly; and if there are sufficient willing volunteers to take care of the organisational side e.g. officers and committee.

If you have doubts about this it may be worth you considering joining an existing club where structures and procedures are already in place. New volunteers and teams within a club would always be welcome. If you need help identifying your nearest club you can find a club here.

If you wish to set up a new club you can find online resources and advice on the YOUR GAME website.

To set up a club you will need to consider the following aspects:
Affiliation
Joining a league
Finding a pitch and training facility
Funding
Safeguarding children
Respect                                                                                                                                                                                   Managing a team

You may also want to consider becoming a Charter Standard Club  as this will help ensure that effective administration, standards of coaching and child protection are in place from the start.
