County Teams

Cambridgeshire Football Association has three County Representative Teams, Under 16, Under 18 and Women.

Under 18
The Under 18 team plays in the East Anglian Counties Competition – the Len Cordell Trophy section (EACC). This is for County Football Associations within East Anglia and the FA County Youth Cup.

We are pleased that the Under 18 team have secured the EACC championship in both 2010/2011 and 2011/ 2012. In the FA County Youth Cup we have won the competition on one occasion in 1996/97 when they defeated Lancashire 1-0 at Cambridge United’s Abbey Stadium. In 2007/08 we once again reached the final and unfortunately lost out by the odd goal in three to neighbours Suffolk.

Under 16
The Under 16 team also plays in the EACC – the Boardman Trophy section, and has enjoyed real success and praise over the past few seasons, winning the competition in 2006/07, 2007/8, 2008/09 and once again in 2010/11.

The Women also compete in the EACC – The Fred Welham Women's Cup Section. They have won the title on one occasion in 2008/09 and finished runners up in 2011/12.

A County Cap is awarded to any player that makes 10 appearances for the County and a special award is made to players who make 25 appearances. In the 2011/12 season Liz Pamplin, Verity Crook and Alison received awards for 25 appearances.

County Trials for all three teams are held in the summer of each year. For further information please contact Chris Abbott, County Representative Team Secretary on 01223 209028 or
