Becoming a Referee/Courses

Cambridgeshire FA offers courses for new referees throughout the year. If you are interested in becoming a Referee or would like to broaden your knowledge to increase your enjoyment of the game, please read on. Cambridgeshire Football Association will be delighted to offer you a course to suit your needs. Reductions in costs are available for B.A.M.E. and Female referee candidates.

If you would like to become a qualified referee, you will need to take part in either the FA Mini Soccer Referee Course or the FA Course for New Referees.

 

 The FA Mini Soccer Referees Course

This course is designed to provide basic training for those planning to referee Mini Soccer and will focus on four key areas:

• Understanding your role in Mini Soccer
• Developing your role – practical application of the laws
• The realities of your role – dealing with players, coaches and parents
• Your role as an educator.

The FA Course for New Referees - 9v9 & 11v11

The FA Course for New Referees provides the introduction to officiating in 9v9 & 11v11 football. The course will introduce the learner to The Laws of Association Football and most importantly their application delivered through theory and practical elements, outlining the skills required to operate as a match official in grassroots football
