|About ARU Volunteering|
Anglia Ruskin’s Sports Volunteering Coordinator, Chris Pursell, is keen to get students contributing in sporting activities in Cambridge. Clubs and leagues could be a perfect place to give students a quality experience of organising or administrating sports.
Students will be matched to the opportunities organisations provide based on the experience they wish to gain as well as any experience or qualifications they may already hold. Anglia Ruskin will work in partnership with both the students and the organisation to ensure all parties benefit. Volunteering opportunities could be regular and on-going, or one-off events or sessions. The university are open to any type of opportunity and will take direction from organisations on the practical elements of placements.
Clubs and leagues offering placements must be charter standard. Charter Standard Leagues include:
Cambridgeshire S-Tech Girls' League
Cambridgeshire S-Tech Women's League
Cambridgeshire and District Colts League
Cambridgeshire Mini Soccer League
Tucker Gardner League T20 League
Cambridgeshire County League
Over 86% of all clubs in Cambridgeshire are Charter Standard with Youth Clubs at nearly 100%. So there are numerous potential placements students can access.
Opportunities should be clearly defined and support should be available to ensure volunteers get a valuable and enjoyable experience, with a mentor for the student to receive guidance and advice from initially and then general support and advice in the future.
To register your Charter Standard club or league to take part in this scheme, please contact a member of the Development team at Cambridgeshire FA on: 01223 209020 ex 4 or e-mail email@example.com.
You can also complete the club / league registration form below and e-mail us so we can start the process of matching a volunteer to any roles you wish to fill.
