CUFC Futsal v Bath FC
Cambridge faced Bath in their first National League game of the season, which was played in home ground at the University of Cambridge Sports Centre, which saw around 60 people in attendance.
The U's set the tempo of the match right from kick off and Chadwick scored his first competitive goal of the season on the two-minute mark which took some pressure of the new side. Bath were playing some good passing game despite racking up three fouls in the first four minutes of play and quickly managed to put one past Cusumano in the amber goal to equalise.
The reply from the yellows came from Morcillo who, after some great inter play in their own half of the court, manage to dink the ball past the Bath keeper. Straight after the restart Martinez added one to his tally too with a great finish just from outside the box.
Cambridge were now adding on even more pressure and playing at a tempo that Bath didn't appreciate and there were another three goals for the home side before half time.
The second half turned out to be as exciting as the first with 12 goals being scored by both teams. Bath managed to get another past the Cambridge keeper which gave the visiting side some hope, and Cambridge were quick to establish themselves in the game after.
Chadwick added his third of the game on the 23rd minute and Morcillo was also firing them in before the 30th minute mark, however Bath managed to find some inspiration and gave everything they had in a shake few minutes for the yellows where they saw the scoreline being reduced to a four goal margin.
Eventually, Cambridge got their focus back and managed to score another few late goals and finished the game with a final scoreline of 13-6.
Cambridge now top the league table after the first game with the highest goal difference:
