Where: Bottisham Village College, Lode Road, Bottisham, Cambridgeshire, CB25 9DJ

Bottisham Village College are delighted to be officially opening their new third generation (3G) artificial grass pitch (AGP) on Saturday 28 April at 9.30am. This has been made possible by investment from the Premier League & The FA Facilities Fund. The 2017/18 FA Respect Supporter will be in attendance.

The grant has enabled the College to install the new all-weather pitch, which will benefit its students. Other local organisations, including partner club Bottisham FC and the Cambridge FA, will also be able to take advantage of the new pitch.

Local professional clubs Cambridge United FC and Norwich City FC are set to deliver community outreach sessions, such as holiday camps, using the state-of-the-art new facility. This, along with Bottisham FC’s plans to introduce nine new teams and the Cambridgeshire FA using the site to support its existing flexi-leagues, is expected to increase on-site football participation by 327%

The project was made possible thanks to a £265,527 grant from the Premier League & The FA Facilities Fund, which is delivered by the Football Foundation.

Since 2000, the Football Foundation Funding Partners’ investment has provided 196 grants worth £5.4m towards grassroots sports projects worth over £16.3m across the whole of Cambridgeshire.

Founded in 2000, the Football Foundation is the largest sports charity in the UK funded by the Premier League, The FA and Government, via Sport England. It develops new and refurbished grassroots sports facilities in order to improve the quality and experience of playing sport at the grassroots level. Since it was launched in 2000, the Foundation has awarded over 17,000 grants worth more than £615m towards improving grassroots sport, which it has used to attract additional partnership funding of over £817m – £1.4bn of investment into the grassroots game.
