1884 Business Club - Cambridge City FC

Introducing a starter member of our 1884 Business Club.

Cambridgeshire FA is delighted to provide a spotlight on the members of our 1884 Business Club.

Today, our spotlight shines upon our starter member, Cambridge City Football Club.

Cambridge City FC follows the mantra of ‘Rising Together As One’, and through the club, provides a focal point for the local community.

The clubs men’s team was established in 1908 and has been prominent in non-league football ever since. The club now also boasts highly successful ladies and girl’s teams along with a thriving youth setup along with two trophy winning ParAbility teams.

Construction is halfway through the development of Cambridge City’s new football stadium. Not only will it become the home for the club, it will also provide opportunities for the local community and businesses. Alongside the main pitch, the site will include an artificial 3G pitch, which will be available for external hire. Various function rooms will also be available for hire, making it a perfect venue for conferences, seminars, weddings and celebrations.

The entire facility will be multi-purpose, with facilities available on non-matchdays and will include a main bar, restaurant and conference room on the ground floor.

Kevin Satchell, Chairman of Cambridge City Football Club, said: “We pride ourselves on our club principles of being a local community sporting club, which has its foundations built on the hard work of players, volunteers, loyal supporters – and partnerships with our highly-valued sponsors.”

Ruben Costa, Commercial and Partnerships Officer, added: “Cambridgeshire FA is extremely happy to have Cambridge City FC as their 1884 Networking member. A stronger connection has been forged between Cambridge City and this association.

“Kevin and his team understood the value of our networking club, especially at this crucial stage in which their new football stadium construction is halfway through. I’d like to extend a warm welcome to them to the 1884 Club.”
