Tom Dickens

Meet Our New Football Development Assistant

Tom Dickens is the newest member of the Cambridgeshire FA team.

We’ve been delighted to welcome Tom Dickens to the Cambridgeshire FA team in recent weeks, joining us as our new Football Development Assistant.

Tom has been involved within football in the county for many years and will now support Katie Critchley, Amy Newell and Ryan Kay in the growth and development of the game for all in Cambridgeshire.

“I’m excited to be working with a team that has a big part to play in the growth and development of football across Cambridgeshire,” explained Tom.

“I’ve played football my whole life. I joined Cambridge United’s academy when I was eight and progressed through the age groups before being offered a two-year scholarship at 16. Later, I was given a two-year professional contract at the club, making my senior professional debut in 2022. I’ve played a season in non-league football and currently play for Step 3 side AFC Sudbury.

“I’ve really enjoyed my role since joining and the team have made me feel welcome, so I’ve settled in nicely. It’s been brilliant organising and setting up my first Futsal tournament, as well as having the opportunity to attend the FA Cup final.

“Moving forward, I’m really looking forward to engaging with the coaching workforce across the county. I’m excited about what the future holds.”
