Cambridgeshire FA was delighted to celebrate our local grassroots heroes recently, as we welcomed the winners of the England Football Grassroots Football Awards to the Women’s Invitation Cup final.

This year’s celebration held added significance, as we welcomed the winners of our local Grassroots Football Awards from the past THREE years, so that we could celebrate them in person following a series of awards that wouldn’t allow us to do so, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chris Abbott, Competitions and Clubs Development Manager at Cambridgeshire FA, said: “Congratulations to all our winners over the last three years and thank you for your continued hard work. 

“Volunteers are the heartbeat of grassroots football and we are extremely grateful; for the work you do.”

All of our winners joined Cambridgeshire FA for an award ceremony prior to the Women’s Invitation Cup final, and were presented to the crowd in attendance at half-time.
