Cambridgeshire FA kicked-off the season’s local coach education programme earlier this month, as we hosted the first Continued Professional Development (CPD) workshop of 2023/24.
With an impressive turnout of 25 of the county’s grassroots football coaches in attendance, Swavesey Village College Sports Centre became the venue for ‘How to Manage and Observe Difference’.
The workshop focused on how to adapt coaching practices in order to meet the needs of different skill levels. Some of the outcomes for coaches in attendance included:
- Thinking about the ways coaches can recognise the needs of players before, during and after sessions.
- Understanding the STEP (Space, Task, Equipment, People) principle.
- Considering how and when to utilise the STEP principle to adapt and progress sessions.
Thanks to all our coaches that attended – and please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for details of CPD workshops taking place in Cambridgeshire this season.
We have five more of these CPDs planned for 2023/24.
